Keeping in touch with family and loved ones is something that is obvious to most everyone but sometimes, it’s not as easy as it should especially when you live apart. It is becoming more and more common these days that brothers & sisters live in different cities, parents and their children and even spouses due to work.
I grew up moving a lot
I grew up moving around a lot and my uncles and aunts are in many different cities so I grew up thinking it was normal to live far from your family. When I raised my first family, we moved around too (Ottawa, Los Angeles and Fredericton) and today I have two grown daughters who live 5 hours apart and my home is 3 hours away from one (in Fredericton, NB) and 4 from the other (in Halifax, NS).
It’s great that today there are no more long distance fees to call but some times, especially growing up the way I did, I don’t always remember to take the time to reach out.
Love all my ladies
Today, I have a new family who do not want to make the same mistakes – I love all my beautiful daughters and my gorgeous wife but unfortunately, I had to take a job that is 12 hours away (Montreal to Charlottetown), which only allows me to see them about once a month, so I talk to my wife, our 3 year old and our 1 1/2 year old every day and am talking to my older daughters more often… not to mention my brother, sister, father and mother, all living in different cities in Canada. My brother is in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, Ontario. My sister is in Calgary, Alberta. My mother in Rigaud, Quebec and my father in Chelsea, Quebec.
Take the time to reach out to your family regularly and keep in touch with loved ones, you will feel better about yourself and they will appreciate and love you for it. I’m still not perfect but I learned a lot by listening to personal development as much as I can.
