How to Figure Out Your Why
If you’ve been involved in any business, especially MLM or direct selling, you probably have heard more times than you can count “figure out your why” or “you can’t succeed without a strong why” or “you need a why that makes you cry”.
I’ll tell you, I heard those words 4-5 times a week for the last few years and until recently I thought my why was just “I want to make money”… and I have to admit that it’s not been motivating me much either… sure, I want money and everything it brings like choices, freedom, ability to do what you want when you want and with who you want but it never made me get up in the morning, or go out and prospect as I needed to.
And then I saw one of Tanya Aliza‘s videos called “The #1 Best Way to Overcome the Fear of Rejection” and at 1:45 she explains it and I got it! Finally, I got it! Maybe it was obvious to those telling me, but I never got it. Maybe I actually heard the same thing Tanya was saying but just never got it. Maybe I just wasn’t ready until now… I don’t know, but I got it now…
What’s the Secret?
Anyway, what she says is to ask yourself the same question 4-5 times: “Why do you want that?” until you can’t really ask it again…
Pretty simple, eh? (yeah, I’m Canadian 🙂 )
So, for example, say I do this:
- I want money: Why do you want that?
- because I want to be free: Why do you want that?
- because I want to have the choice to work when I want, where I want and with who I want: Why do you want that?
- because I want to spend more time with my family: why do you want that?
- because I that is what is most important to me and this is what drives me!
So, you see this allows me to realize that the real reason I want to “have tons of money” is because I want to spend as much time as I can with my family.
Makes you realize your true reason for doing something. What is your reason? What is your why? What questions did you ask yourself to find out? I’d love to head about your story and where’s you’ve been until you discovered this secret so please comment below and let me know.
