Exercise regularly
I used to workout regularly, almost 5 days a week, I’d get up at 5am, go to gym and workout for 30 to 60 minutes. It took me about one month to start to really like it and I gained more energy, I slept better or was more productive at work. Things change and we get busy with other things and if we don’t make it a priority, it falls behind in our life. They say it takes as little as 1 week to loose what you’ve gained in terms of energy, flexibility and sleep patterns.
We all know we should exercise regularly but it’s not easy to do. I think that part of our society feels like it sucks to HAVE to exercise regularly because our parents didn’t have too and they didn’t turn out so bad.
I think the reason for this is caused by many factors such as the percentage of the society that used to do manual labor compared to today or the fact that there is more pollution – an awful lot has changed to our environment in the last 50 to 100 years.
What changed?
Some say the food we eat changed a lot. I read this in a French book from Michel Montignac translated to Eat Yourself Thin. The theory is that we started eating too much processed foods, processed flour, processed sugars and vegetables like potatoes and corn in such large quantities as a society that we over work our pancreas which causes it to break down around the age of 30 to 40 at which point we start to gain weight.
Other theories, for example, by John Gray is that we over farmed and over fertilized our land causing all minerals to be extracted by the plants and today, our land is mineral poor which causes our food to have less minerals. John Gray suggests that this affects our brain chemistry and it causes our bodies to process our nutrients differently.
What will you gain?
If you exercise regularly, it will help to offset these things but all experts agree that you will have more energy, you will sleep better, you will have less stress, your relationships will improve and you will be more productive at work.
You can workout any time of the day, but experts also do recommend doing it in morning so if you want the most of it, get up early to exercise and extend your life!
