What does it mean to Synergize you may ask. It’s a pretty different word and we typically don’t learn about it in school. It’s about connecting things together to accomplish better results faster.
It’s also about working together as a team and learning from each other to come up with better
solutions and think outside the box. This is why we do things like brainstorm a new idea where everyone in a room throws any idea on a subject for a set period of time no mater what anyone else thinks.
Here’s how Stephen R. Covey explains Synergize in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:
“When people begin to interact together genuinely, and they’re open to each other’s influence, they begin to gain new insight. The capability of inventing new approaches is increased exponentially because of differences.”
Why does it work?
The reason this works and is important is that the sum of two parts is equal to more than two parts because each interaction increases the value of each part which in turn increases that value and it compounds into infinite increases or results.
When we synergize, we can accomplish so much more than we we work alone. We should synergize not only in work related situations but also in parenting, relationships and health. Anywhere that the solution comes from ideas and therefore is not a black and white answer.
How do you synergize? Post a comment a let me know.
